New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a road rage incident that led to an assault on North Dupont Highway in New Castle last week. The suspect, an older white male, remains at large.
On March 11, 2025, at approximately 3:31 p.m., troopers responded to the area of Market Place for a report of a road rage-related assault. According to police, a Subaru Forester was involved in an altercation with a dark-colored pickup truck on N. Dupont Highway. When both vehicles came to a stop in the left turn lane, the pickup truck’s driver exited his vehicle armed with a metal tool.
Authorities stated that the suspect approached the Subaru, yelled at the driver, and struck the front driver-side window with the tool, shattering it. The victim, a 59-year-old man from New Castle, was hit in the face by the tool and sustained injuries. EMS evaluated him at the scene. The suspect then fled northbound on N. Dupont Highway.
