According to Delaware State Police, troopers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. Thursday to the Food Lion located at 3609 Philadelphia Pike after a victim reported being threatened during a Facebook Marketplace transaction.
Investigators said the victim met with an unknown man to sell a watch when the suspect allegedly tried it on before returning to his vehicle. Police said the man then reportedly displayed a handgun to the victim before fleeing the scene in a black SUV. Authorities confirmed the victim was not injured during the encounter.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned Black male in his late 20s to early 30s. Police said surveillance video and images are not currently available.
