Dover, DE – The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and southeastern Pennsylvania, effective from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday.

According to the NWS Mount Holly, temperatures are expected to dip to around 32 degrees, creating conditions favorable for frost formation across the Delaware Valley and Eastern Shore regions. Areas impacted include Kent and Inland Sussex Counties in Delaware, as well as Caroline, Kent (MD), Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties in Maryland. The advisory also covers New Castle County (DE), southern New Jersey counties including Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland, and extends into Delaware and Philadelphia Counties in Pennsylvania.

The agency warns that frost could damage or kill sensitive vegetation if left uncovered overnight. Gardeners and growers are advised to cover or bring indoors tender plants before temperatures begin to drop late Thursday night.

A previously issued Wind Advisory for the same areas has been cancelled, but the cold, calm air moving in behind the front is expected to produce widespread frost through early Friday morning.

Residents should monitor local forecasts for updates as conditions evolve.
