Georgetown, DE – A Maryland man has been arrested in Delaware for allegedly defrauding homeowners out of more than $1 million in a home improvement scam, authorities said.
According to Delaware State Police, 26-year-old Dylan Crew, of Westminster, Maryland, was taken into custody following an investigation into fraudulent business dealings under the name Coastline Contractors Group, LLC. Investigators allege Crew signed contracts with six victims for residential renovations but never completed the projects despite receiving substantial payments.
Officials said detectives began investigating Crew in October 2024, leading to warrants for his arrest. On March 13, 2025, Crew turned himself in at Delaware State Police Troop 4. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $132,000 unsecured bond.
Crew faces multiple felony charges, including:
- Home Improvement Fraud exceeding $100,000 (3 counts)
- Home Improvement Fraud involving elderly or disabled victims (2 counts)
- Theft over $100,000 (3 counts)
- Additional felony theft charges related to elderly victims
