Newark, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this morning at a Walgreens along Pulaski Highway, prompting a search for a suspect who fled the scene with cash.

According to Delaware State Police, the robbery happened around 8 a.m. today at the Walgreens located at 2719 Pulaski Highway in the Newark area of New Castle County. Investigators say an unknown suspect entered the store and approached an employee while displaying a handgun.

Police say the suspect allegedly ordered an employee to a rear office, where another worker was counting money. He then restrained both employees using zip ties before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the counter and running from the business on foot. No injuries were reported, authorities said.

Troopers describe the suspect as a Black male with curly black hair, wearing a black face covering and dark clothing. Despite an immediate response and search of the surrounding area, the suspect was not located.
