Delaware Accident: Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Newark Leaves One Dead

Newark, DE – A Bear, Delaware woman has died following a tragic motorcycle crash in Newark on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 5:01 p.m. on August 6, 2024, along Pulaski Highway near Wrangle Hill Road, when a Harley Davidson FXS motorcycle collided with a Nissan Altima.

According to Delaware State Police, the 45-year-old woman was traveling eastbound in the left lane on Pulaski Highway. Simultaneously, a 24-year-old man from Newark was driving a Nissan Altima westbound and attempted to enter the crossover east of Wrangle Hill Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that the Altima crossed into the motorcycle’s path, leading to a severe collision. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Altima, ejecting the rider.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically succumbed to them on August 8. Authorities have withheld her name pending family notification. The Altima driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
