Seaford, DE – A 3-year-old bicyclist from Seaford died after being struck by a pickup truck Tuesday evening. The Delaware State Police are investigating the fatal crash, which occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the Mobile Gardens community.
According to preliminary reports, the child was riding a bicycle on a gravel road between North Parkway Road and South Parkway Road when they were hit by a westbound Toyota Tacoma. The driver, a 56-year-old woman from Seaford, turned southbound onto North Parkway Road, striking the child. The child was taken to a nearby hospital, where they died from their injuries. Authorities are withholding the child’s name until their family is notified. The driver was not injured in the incident.
North Parkway Road was closed for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
