Dearborn, MI – Authorities in Dearborn are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to arrests in the February 21 fatal shooting of 19-year-old Rawan Baseti. Officials are urging the public to come forward with any details about the incident, which police believe stemmed from a road rage altercation.
According to the Dearborn Police Department, the shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Tireman Avenue and West Morrow Circle. Investigators say a white 2015 Chrysler 200 cut off the victim’s black 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, prompting the victim to follow. As the vehicles reached the intersection, the suspect’s car turned and fired several shots, striking Baseti through the windshield. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have apprehended multiple suspects but are still seeking additional information. The reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers of Michigan, with anonymous tips accepted at 1-800-SPEAKUP or by contacting Dearborn Police at 313-943-2225.
Baseti’s family described her as a beloved daughter, sister, and community member. “Losing Rawan broke us,” said her brother, Hani Baseti, urging witnesses to come forward.
