Davidson County, NC – A joint law enforcement operation spanning two counties led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen property following the execution of a search warrant in Archdale earlier this week.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search warrant on Monday, December 30, at a residence located at 5875 Mendenhall Road Extension as part of an ongoing multi-jurisdictional theft investigation. Agencies involved included the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team, Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Urban Criminal Interdiction Team.

During the search, investigators recovered numerous items of horse tack equipment that had been reported stolen during a breaking and entering incident in Davidson County in November. Detectives also located tires reported stolen in a separate larceny case in Randolph County.

Authorities say the investigation expanded after methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were allegedly discovered inside the residence.

As a result, Bobby Gales III, 41, and Christa Braswell, 39, both of the residence, were arrested. According to investigators, Gales was charged by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office additionally charged Gales with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen property, and obtaining property by false pretense.

Gales was also served with an outstanding order for arrest related to a failure to appear on a possession of stolen property charge in Randolph County. He was placed in the Davidson County Jail under no bond.

Braswell was arrested on an outstanding probation violation order and placed in the Randolph County Jail under a $40,400 secured bond.

Both individuals are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, December 31. Authorities say additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Under North Carolina law, bond conditions are determined by judicial officials, not law enforcement. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
