Lexington, NC – Three people were arrested after a traffic stop on NC Highway 109 led to felony drug charges and obstruction allegations in Davidson County.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the Patrol Division conducted a stop on a 2000 Mercury Villager on February 10 in the Winston-Salem area of Davidson County for traffic violations.

During the stop, the driver, Wesley Douglas Lane, 45, was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance. Lane was charged with one felony count of possession of Schedule I and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jason Ryan Waller, 32, a passenger, was also allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance. Waller was charged with one felony count of possession of Schedule II and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies later determined Waller had two outstanding orders for arrest out of Forsyth County.

A second passenger, Crystal Voncile Meekhoff, 34, was allegedly charged with one misdemeanor count of resist, delay, and obstruct. Authorities said she was an absconder from probation and parole and had an outstanding order for arrest.

All three were taken before a magistrate and ordered held at the Davidson County Detention Center. Authorities said they were held without bond due to being on pretrial release for other pending charges. Waller received a $1,000 secured bond related to the Forsyth County order. Meekhoff was placed on a probation hold.

The stop occurred along a key commuter corridor connecting Davidson and Forsyth counties.
