Davidson County, NC – Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team arrested a High Point man on drug charges after a traffic stop in Thomasville on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies stopped a 2011 GMC Yukon on Joe Moore Road near Burton Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, investigators searched the vehicle and allegedly found crack cocaine inside a passenger’s backpack.

The passenger, identified as Charles Keith Williams, 72, of High Point, was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies said Williams also had several outstanding warrants at the time of the stop.

Williams was booked into custody and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County Court on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

The sheriff’s office continues to use targeted traffic enforcement and drug interdiction patrols across Davidson County. Officials say the efforts are part of an ongoing push to reduce narcotics activity in the region.
