Davenport, IA – Downtown drivers should prepare for delays and detours this Sunday, September 28, as the TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon makes its way through Davenport. Road closures and temporary parking restrictions will be in place early in the morning through early afternoon.

According to the Davenport Police Department, the marathon will impact eastbound traffic downtown from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Roads along the race route, including West 2nd Street, will be closed, and temporary “no parking” zones will be enforced throughout the duration of the event.

Police are urging residents to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and stay alert for the large increase in pedestrians. Organizers say the race will bring runners and visitors from across the region, creating both community excitement and significant traffic impacts.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and watch for detour signs around downtown. Event officials stress that compliance with parking restrictions will help ensure the marathon runs smoothly and safely for both participants and the public.
