Davenport, Iowa – Mild and increasingly warm weather is expected across eastern Iowa and western Illinois beginning Saturday, with temperatures climbing well above seasonal averages into early next week.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, Saturday will start the period with seasonable conditions, but sunshine and strengthening southerly winds will quickly initiate a warming trend. Afternoon highs Saturday are expected to reach the mid-30s, followed by a notable jump into the 40s and 50s on Sunday.

By Monday and Tuesday, temperatures across the Quad Cities region are forecast to climb into the upper 50s and low 60s, with the warmest readings favored south of Interstate 80. Communities along major travel corridors such as I-80, I-74, US-61, and US-67 will experience dry roads and comfortable conditions for commuting and outdoor activity.

Forecasters say dry weather will persist through at least Tuesday afternoon, allowing several consecutive days of favorable travel conditions. Southerly winds will help reinforce the warming trend, though breezy conditions may develop at times, particularly during the afternoon hours.

The National Weather Service notes that while temperatures will feel springlike, overnight lows will still dip into the 30s and 40s, especially in rural areas. Drivers should remain alert for isolated cool spots during early morning travel, though no widespread hazards are expected.

The warm spell may be especially noticeable for students, commuters, and outdoor workers after recent colder weather. Parks, trails, and outdoor venues across the Quad Cities are expected to see increased activity as conditions improve.

Rain chances are expected to return late Tuesday or Tuesday night, marking the end of the dry stretch. Until then, residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild conditions while remaining aware of changing forecasts.

The National Weather Service recommends monitoring updated outlooks at weather.gov/dvn as the warming trend continues into next week.
