Davenport, IA – After a stretch of mild and dry weather, the Quad Cities region will see changing conditions heading into the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service in the Quad Cities.
A warm front will lift through the area Thursday and Friday, pushing temperatures into the upper 70s and low 80s—well above mid-October averages. Breezy southwest winds will accompany the warmup before a strong cold front moves in Friday night.
That front will bring a round of showers and a few thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday, with the highest chances during the day Saturday. Cooler, breezy conditions will follow the system, with highs dropping to near 70 Saturday and into the lower 60s by Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service, isolated showers tonight will end with little measurable rain, but more widespread precipitation is likely over the weekend as the front passes.
Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts for updates as cooler, fall-like air settles into the region by late weekend.
