Davenport, IA – A 53-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday evening after a vehicle struck him at the intersection of 2nd and Myrtle Streets. The crash occurred around 7:14 PM.
Police, Fire, and Medic EMS units responded to the scene immediately. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was heading westbound on 2nd Street when it struck the man, who was attempting to cross southbound.
According to the Davenport Police Department, the injured pedestrian was transported by Medic EMS to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The full extent of his condition is currently unknown.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, led by the Davenport Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit. No further information has been released at this time regarding the driver or possible charges.
