According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Jan. 17 to the 1700 block of Candy Lane in the Florence area of Darlington County in reference to a reported breaking and entering. Authorities said the suspects allegedly fled before law enforcement arrived.
Investigators determined the suspects allegedly entered the residence through a window while armed with a loaded firearm and demanded the victim’s cellphone before leaving the scene.
On Feb. 4, deputies arrested Emily Grantham and charged her with armed robbery, first-degree burglary, and criminal conspiracy. A Darlington County magistrate denied bond on all charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Monday, Feb. 10, the Special Incident Response Team assisted the Criminal Investigations Division in executing a search and arrest warrant at a home in the 300 block of Lee Street in Darlington. During the search, deputies recovered approximately 13.2 grams of methamphetamine.
Justin Rubin was arrested at the scene and charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes, first-degree burglary, trafficking methamphetamine between 10 and 28 grams, and criminal conspiracy. Bond was denied on the burglary charge, with a $185,000 cash or surety bond set on the remaining charges.
