Darlington, SC – Two people were arrested Wednesday morning after a narcotics search warrant led deputies to recover fentanyl, crack cocaine, marijuana and other controlled substances in Darlington County, authorities said.
According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, the search was executed around 8 a.m. Wednesday at a home on the 1400 block of Sunburst Drive. Deputies, along with the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit, the Special Incident Response Team and Hartsville Police, reportedly recovered 3.45 grams of crack cocaine, .23 grams of fentanyl, marijuana and promethazine syrup during the operation.
Officials said Brittany Smith and Bryant Crews were arrested at the scene.
According to investigators, Smith allegedly faced multiple felony narcotics charges, including two counts of fentanyl distribution, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana. Smith was also charged with giving false information to law enforcement and theft of electric current. Deputies added that she had outstanding warrants.
Crews was charged with possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana, multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics and theft of electric current, according to the sheriff’s office.
Both individuals remain held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center, where officials said bond hearings are expected Thursday.
