Darlington, SC – Two people were arrested in Darlington County after authorities say a weekend drug raid led to the discovery of methamphetamine.

According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit and the Special Incident Response Team executed a search warrant on Sunday, October 26, 2025, along Indian Branch Road in the Hartsville area. The operation involved both Darlington County deputies and Hartsville Police officers.

During the search, investigators reportedly recovered 25 grams of methamphetamine. Sheriff August confirmed that two individuals, identified as Phillip Johnson and Chelsey Lewis, were taken into custody following the raid.

Both Johnson and Lewis have been charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine (2nd Offense) and Criminal Conspiracy, according to the Sheriff’s Office. A Darlington County magistrate denied bond for both suspects. They remain held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

Authorities said no further details are being released at this time as the investigation continues.
