Darlington County, SC – Two men are behind bars today following a traffic stop in the Hartsville area that led to the seizure of large amounts of illegal drugs and a stolen firearm, authorities said.

According to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit, working alongside Hartsville Police officers, conducted a lawful traffic stop on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Darlington area of Darlington County.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, investigators reportedly recovered 131 Schedule pills, 125 grams of methamphetamine, 8 grams of fentanyl, 8 grams of crack cocaine, 4 grams of marijuana, and one stolen handgun, officials said.

As a result of the investigation, Quentell Brown and Gabriel Davis were arrested at the scene.

Brown was charged with multiple offenses, including trafficking methamphetamine (100 grams or more), trafficking fentanyl (4 grams or more, second offense), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine (third offense), possession of a stolen handgun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance (third offense), and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Davis faces similar charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl (second offense), possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of a stolen handgun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance.

Both men are currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings. Authorities said the investigation remains active and additional information may be released.
