Darke County, OH – A Darke County man was airlifted Sunday afternoon after a single-motorcycle crash on Billman Road that left him with suspected serious injuries.

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 800 block of Billman Road at approximately 2:40 p.m. on September 21, 2025. Tri Village Rescue and New Madison Fire also assisted at the scene.

Investigators said a 1997 Suzuki motorcycle, operated by Brian Cole, 56, of New Madison, was traveling south when Cole allegedly lost control of the bike. The motorcycle went off the left side of the road, ejecting Cole.

Authorities confirmed that Cole was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The sheriff’s office said the crash remains under investigation.

Residents in the area reported traffic delays as emergency crews responded to the scene. Officials have not released further details.
