Darke County, OH – Drivers along U.S. Route 127 faced delays Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash left one person injured near the Brown Road intersection.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 12:41 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025. Deputies responded alongside Ansonia Fire and Rescue and OSP Motor Carrier Enforcement after reports of a collision involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger van.
Investigators say a White 2018 Ford Transit van, driven by David Mims, 57, of Dayton, was traveling south on U.S. 127 when it allegedly crossed left of center. The van struck a Black 2001 Mack 600 semi driven by Cory Knoth, 36, of Coldwater, who was heading northbound at the time. Deputies reported that both vehicles came to a stop near the roadway after the impact.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mims was transported to Wayne Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Knoth was evaluated at the scene and released without hospitalization. Deputies stated that Mims was issued a citation for driving left of center following the preliminary investigation.
The crash caused temporary slowdowns in the area, though traffic later resumed normal flow. No other injuries were reported, and the incident remains under review.
Residents who were traveling through the area Monday afternoon reported seeing emergency crews directing traffic while crews worked to clear the scene.
