Greenville, OH – A late-morning crash at the intersection of State Route 49N and State Route 47 caused delays and sent one person to the hospital Saturday, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash happened around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, after deputies and Ansonia Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision with injuries. Investigators say a 2017 Chevy Cruze was traveling south on State Route 49N and had stopped at the intersection’s posted stop sign before entering the crossing.
Deputies reported that the driver of the Cruze allegedly failed to yield to traffic moving through on State Route 47. The vehicle then entered the intersection and struck an eastbound 2003 Chevy Silverado. The impact caused visible damage and temporarily slowed traffic approaching the Greenville and Union City areas of Darke County.
According to investigators, the driver of the Silverado, a 70-year-old man from Union City, Indiana, was transported by Ansonia Rescue to Wayne Health Care for evaluation of minor injuries. The driver of the Cruze, a 28-year-old from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was checked at the scene and declined further medical treatment.
Deputies issued a citation to the Cruze driver for failure to yield the right-of-way at a through highway. No additional contributing factors were reported, and both vehicles were removed from the scene shortly after the investigation.
Motorists in the area experienced brief delays near the rural intersection while crews cleared the roadway. The sheriff’s office has not announced any further updates.
