Danville, IL – A 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday night after fleeing officers in the 100 block of Harvey Street. Police say the teen, who violated the city curfew, was walking in the middle of the road when officers approached.
According to the Danville Police Department, officers recognized the teen and attempted to stop him around 10:30 p.m. The juvenile ran but was apprehended after a brief pursuit. During the investigation, police recovered an illegal firearm reportedly stolen.
The juvenile faces multiple charges, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon under the age of 21, possession of a stolen firearm, obstructing a peace officer, and violating curfew. Authorities transported the teen to the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center, where he remains in custody pending court proceedings.
