Danville, IL – A Chicago man was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to home invasion following a domestic dispute in Danville.
According to the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office, Albert Cobbins, 37, was sentenced Friday by Judge Mark S. Goodwin. Cobbins will also serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release after his prison term.
Authorities said Danville Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Nov. 14, 2024. The victim reported that Cobbins attempted to enter her home through a bedroom window before successfully climbing in through the living room. After she threatened to call the police, Cobbins allegedly grabbed her by the shirt and dragged her to a back bedroom. Officers arrived to find the victim with lacerations on her forehead and cheek.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy commended officers for their swift response and emphasized the county’s firm stance against domestic violence.
