Danville, IN – Drivers in Danville should plan for delays Wednesday as State Road 39 (Cross Street) will be closed for live fire training, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).
The closure is scheduled to begin around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, and will remain in effect through the afternoon. The Danville Fire Department will be conducting live fire exercises in the area, prompting a full shutdown of SR 39 between Mill Street and Lincoln Street.
INDOT advises motorists to follow the official detour using Lincoln Street to Mackey Street to U.S. 36. Local traffic is encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, especially during the morning commute and midday hours.
Officials remind drivers to stay alert for crews and emergency vehicles operating near the closure zone. Access to nearby residences and businesses may be limited during the training period.
