Detectives developed a suspect identified as Jay Ollis, 49, of Danville. Police said Ollis was located Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, in the unit block of East Harrison Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Ollis was transported to the Vermilion County Jail on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery, according to police. Authorities said the charge is related to allegedly firing the BB gun and striking the postal employee during mail delivery.
