Madison, WI – A suspect in a violent assault near Camp Randall Stadium was taken into custody Saturday afternoon, according to the University of Wisconsin–Madison Police Department (UWPD).

The arrest follows an early-morning incident on September 20, 2025, around 2 a.m., when officers responded to a report of an aggravated assault at 15 Breese Terrace in Madison. Police said the victim sustained critical injuries in what they described as a “violent, unprovoked attack.” The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to UWPD, the suspect, identified as Keith A. Jones, allegedly fled the scene after the assault. Authorities initially warned the public that Jones could be dangerous and may have been in possession of a security uniform and radio.

Later that afternoon, police confirmed Jones was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of aggravated battery with intent to cause great bodily harm, robbery, and a probation violation.

Investigators believe the incident was targeted. The case remains under review as police continue gathering evidence.

Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact UWPD or Dane County authorities.
