Damaging Winds and Hail Possible in Western Missouri Tonight

Kansas City, MO – A complex of thunderstorms is likely to move southward from Nebraska and Iowa late tonight, bringing with it damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph. Residents should prepare for potential severe weather during the early morning hours of Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected to hit Kansas City late tonight and continue into early Wednesday morning. While the primary hazard is damaging thunderstorm winds, some storms may also produce damaging hail. The tornado risk is very low.

The forecast for the rest of the week shows a mix of weather conditions. After tonight’s storms, Wednesday will see a high of 88°F with sunny skies. Thursday will be partly cloudy with a high of 82°F. Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday, with a 55% chance of rain and a high of 93°F. The weekend will bring cooler temperatures, with highs of 75°F and 66°F on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and a chance of rain on Saturday. The start of next week looks mild, with highs in the low 90s and mostly sunny skies.
