Dallas, Texas – North Texans are bracing for another punishing stretch of heat as temperatures soar into the triple digits through midweek. A Heat Advisory remains in effect Monday with heat index values peaking near 108°F, making outdoor activity dangerous during the afternoon and early evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Dallas will see highs near 99°F Monday and 101°F Tuesday, before storm chances return midweek. A 20 percent chance of thunderstorms arrives late Monday and Tuesday, increasing to 40 percent by Wednesday afternoon as scattered showers develop across the region.
The intense heat will strain air conditioning systems and raise the risk of heat-related illnesses. Residents are urged to limit time outdoors, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors. TxDOT also advises drivers to prepare for possible delays if storms trigger localized flooding Wednesday evening.
Relief will be limited even after storms move in, as highs remain in the mid-90s into next weekend. The best chance for any cooling comes Wednesday night into Thursday, when showers could briefly lower temperatures.
Warnings remain in place through Monday, with additional advisories possible later this week.
