Texas – Umbrellas tilt and rain pools on pavement as waves of showers and thunderstorms spread across Dallas this afternoon, with lightning and bursts of heavy rain disrupting travel in real time. Visibility can drop fast on I-35 and Loop 12 as storms pulse through the metro.

According to the National Weather Service, storm coverage climbs to around 90% through the afternoon, with wind gusts reaching 25 mph and pockets of heavier rain producing up to a quarter inch. Additional rounds of storms continue into the evening, with activity gradually easing later but not fully clearing.

Across Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington, expect stop-and-go traffic where heavier cells pass. Water may collect along low spots on I-20 and Highway 75. Plan extra time and avoid flooded roadways. Lightning remains a concern for outdoor plans, especially into the early evening hours.

Conditions briefly settle Monday with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-80s, offering a short break. However, the pattern reloads quickly. By Tuesday afternoon, storm chances return near 20%, then ramp up again Tuesday night into Wednesday. Rain chances reach 60% midweek, with more widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms.

Meteorologists are tracking this active spring pattern closely. Repeated rainfall could lead to minor flooding in poor drainage areas by Wednesday. Keep devices charged and check for updates before heading out.

Five Day Forecast for Dallas, Texas:
Monday: Mostly cloudy, high 84°F
Tuesday: Slight storm chance after 1 p.m., high 83°F
Wednesday: Showers and storms likely, high 80°F
Thursday: Partly sunny, high 86°F
Friday: Slight storm chance, high 88°F
