Texas – Dark clouds are already bubbling on the horizon, and the air feels heavier across North Texas as storm energy builds for a potentially volatile stretch through tonight and into early week.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, scattered storms will weaken early, but redevelopment is expected by afternoon along an outflow boundary near and south of I-20. Storm coverage remains around 20 to 40 percent, but any storm that forms could quickly turn severe with large hail, damaging winds, and frequent lightning.

Across Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, and down toward Waco and Killeen, conditions may shift quickly by late afternoon. Roads like I-20, I-35E, and I-35W could see sudden downpours reducing visibility. Plan extra travel time and be ready for rapid weather changes.

Meteorologists now tracking this boundary say storms may intensify into the evening hours, especially south of the Metroplex. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall, leading to localized flooding on low-lying roads and poor drainage areas.

Farther west, near areas along and west of US-281, storm development is less certain. However, any storms that do form there could also become strong as they track northeast into the evening.

The pattern doesn’t settle down. Additional storm chances continue into Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with a persistent risk for strong storms across North and Central Texas. While not every day will see severe weather, the setup supports repeated rounds of rain and storms.

Five Day Outlook for Dallas–Fort Worth, TX
Today: High near the 80s, scattered storms possible
Sunday: Strong storms possible, especially afternoon and evening
Monday: Storm chances continue, some strong
