Dallas, TX – A thick, low-hanging fog rolled across North Texas early Saturday, dimming streetlights and swallowing road signs as commuters faced near-zero visibility on major routes including I-35 and Highway 75. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 10 a.m. CST, warning that travel could be dangerous through midmorning.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, patchy dense fog is expected to persist through the morning hours before sunshine breaks through by late morning. Visibility may fall below a quarter mile in several areas, especially in low-lying zones and near rivers. Drivers are urged to use low-beam headlights, reduce speed, and allow extra space between vehicles as slick, dew-covered pavement could make sudden stops more difficult.

Temperatures hover in the low 40s early today and should climb near 60°F by afternoon under clearing skies. A steady warming trend will follow, with highs reaching near 63°F by Tuesday, bringing crisp but calm December afternoons. Nights remain chilly, with lows dipping into the upper 30s to low 40s.

As December deepens, long-range models show a potential cold front pushing through the Plains late next week, hinting at another early-winter cooldown and possible frost for northern Texas by midmonth.

Five-Day Outlook for Dallas-Fort Worth:

  • Saturday: Morning fog, then mostly sunny. High near 60°F.
  • Sunday: Sunny, high 59°F. Low near 33°F.
  • Monday: Clear and mild. High 54°F.
  • Tuesday: Sunny and warmer. High 63°F.
  • Wednesday: Clear skies continue. High near 68°F.
