Fort Worth, Texas – Dangerously hot and humid conditions are gripping much of North and Central Texas this week, with heat index values expected to reach up to 108°F and temperatures staying in the upper 90s through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the Dallas-Fort Worth area will see high temperatures near 97°F through Tuesday, with slight chances for thunderstorms each afternoon. By midweek, storm chances increase to 30%, offering a slight reprieve as daytime highs ease slightly into the low-to-mid 90s.

In Central Texas, cities like Waco, Temple, and Killeen will also swelter in similar conditions. Storm chances begin to rise as early as Tuesday, peaking at 40% by Wednesday and Thursday. Humidity remains high, pushing “feels like” temperatures into the triple digits even as some cloud cover moves in.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and never leave pets or children in vehicles. With high humidity and only brief breaks in the heat, even short outdoor exposure can lead to heat-related illnesses.

Storm chances will linger into late week, possibly continuing into the weekend depending on frontal activity. More advisories could be issued as patterns shift.
