FORT WORTH, Texas – Isolated to scattered storms will return to much of North and Central Texas early this week, bringing a chance for brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning from Monday through Wednesday. Severe weather is not expected, but quick downpours could impact afternoon commutes and outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rain chances will run around 20% Monday and Tuesday, rising to 30% Wednesday. Temperatures will hover near to slightly below seasonal averages, with highs staying in the mid to upper 90s for both the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and areas from Waco to Killeen.

Drivers should be alert for slick roads during heavier showers, and anyone outdoors should seek shelter quickly if thunder is heard. Afternoon storms may be brief but could produce strong wind gusts, especially in open areas and along exposed highways.

The unsettled pattern is expected to ease late Wednesday, with dry and hot conditions likely returning for the latter half of the week. More updates may follow if rainfall potential increases.
