Fort Worth, TX – North Texans can look forward to a cool and sunny Thanksgiving Day, but rain is expected to make a comeback over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Fort Worth.
Forecasters say Thanksgiving Thursday (Nov. 27) will feature bright skies and comfortable highs near 61°F in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and 63°F around Waco and Killeen. Clouds will increase on Friday, signaling a shift toward wetter weather as rain chances climb heading into Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend forecast calls for a 50–70% chance of rain across much of North and Central Texas, including DFW, Sherman, Waco, and Palestine. Rainfall is expected to be lighter than recent systems, with no severe weather anticipated, but residents should still plan for scattered showers during outdoor post-holiday activities.
Highs will stay seasonable in the upper 60s to low 70s, with overnight lows dipping into the 50s. Conditions are expected to improve early next week as drier air moves back into the region.
Travelers returning home after Thanksgiving should keep an eye on updated forecasts for changing rain timing and intensity.
