Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas – Wet roads and reduced visibility could slow the morning commute across North Texas, but conditions improve quickly by midday as rain shifts east of the Metroplex.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue moving east through late morning, with most activity ending between 9 a.m. and noon from DFW toward Paris and Palestine. Rainfall may briefly reduce visibility and create slick spots along I-35, I-20, and U.S. 75 during the early commute.
By early afternoon, skies begin to clear with temperatures climbing into the low to mid-80s across Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, and Sherman. However, south winds will increase, with gusts reaching 20 to 30 mph, especially during the mid to late afternoon hours.
Those winds could impact high-profile vehicles on open roadways and blow around unsecured outdoor items. Drivers should remain cautious through the morning and secure loose objects before winds pick up.
Conditions turn quieter heading into the evening, though additional updates may follow if winds strengthen further.
