Dallas, Texas – Storms could begin impacting outdoor plans and travel by Friday afternoon, with a growing threat for severe weather and flooding across North Texas through Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop after 3 p.m. Friday, increasing in intensity into the evening and overnight hours. Storms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and even a tornado or two, especially across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and areas north toward Sherman and Paris.

Heavy rainfall will be a major concern, with repeated rounds of storms continuing into Saturday. This could lead to localized flooding, particularly along busy corridors like I-35, I-20, and I-30, as well as low-lying and urban areas.

Cities including Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Killeen, and Canton could see multiple waves of storms, with the highest impacts expected Friday night into early Saturday.

Residents should prepare for rapidly changing conditions, secure outdoor items, and monitor alerts. Rain chances taper Saturday night, with drier and cooler conditions expected by Sunday, though additional advisories may be issued before the system exits.
