Fort Worth, TX – Warm weather is expected to dominate North and Central Texas through the weekend and into next week, with temperatures running well above seasonal norms. Afternoon highs will range from the upper 80s to the mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Forecasters say this stretch of heat is around 5 to 10 degrees above average for early October. The normal high is typically 83 degrees in Dallas–Fort Worth and 86 degrees in Waco, but Friday’s readings are projected to reach 92 in both cities. Sherman, Graham, and Waco may all see temperatures topping out in the low 90s.

Rain chances remain slim. The weather service noted a low 10 percent chance of isolated showers Friday afternoon in far Central Texas, including areas near Killeen. Looking ahead, North and Central Texas will stay mostly dry through Monday. A slight uptick in rain chances—about 10 to 20 percent—arrives Tuesday, bringing a chance for scattered storms.

Overall, the forecast highlights extended warm conditions with minimal precipitation, meaning outdoor plans will remain largely unaffected across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, Waco, and surrounding counties.
