Dallas, Texas – Storms are set to make another appearance across Central and East Texas Thursday, with some cells capable of producing gusty winds and brief downpours. Temperatures will climb into the low to mid-90s, but humidity will push heat index values between 95 and 105.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, isolated to scattered storms (20–60%) are expected during the afternoon and evening hours, with the greatest concentration around Waco, Killeen, Palestine, and into East Texas. While the risk of severe weather remains low, any storm could produce locally heavy rainfall, lightning, and short bursts of strong winds.

On Friday, another round of scattered storms is expected, mainly across Central Texas, before conditions turn dry by Saturday. The weekend looks quiet and hot, but changes arrive early next week when an unusually strong cold front pushes south. That front will knock temperatures below seasonal norms and reintroduce rain chances by Monday, offering relief from the August heat.

Residents are urged to avoid outdoor activities during peak heat and remain weather-aware through Friday evening. More advisories may be issued if storm coverage increases.
