Fort Worth, Texas – Triple-digit temperatures are set to grip North Texas this week as another round of hot, dry weather builds in across Dallas/Fort Worth, Waco/Temple/Killeen, and Sherman/Denison. Road crews, outdoor workers, and anyone spending time outside are urged to take precautions as heat index values soar from the mid 90s to as high as 108°F by late week.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, high pressure overhead will push daytime highs from the low 90s to near 103°F through Saturday, with little chance for cooling rain. The Dallas/Fort Worth area could see temperatures reach 99°F by Friday, with the heat index making conditions feel even more dangerous. Similar temperatures are expected for Waco, Temple, and Killeen, while Sherman/Denison will see highs near 97°F through the weekend.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Local officials recommend taking frequent breaks in air conditioning or shade, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.

The hot stretch will last into the weekend, and further advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
