Dallas, Texas – North and Central Texas are getting one more day of relief from summer heat Sunday as highs hold in the low 80s, with scattered showers possible. Some communities, including Waco and Killeen, may see isolated rainfall through the afternoon, though no severe storms are expected.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a weak disturbance is helping to trigger light showers across Central Texas, with a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain in spots. Dallas–Fort Worth, Waco, and surrounding areas will remain partly cloudy, and a stray thunderclap cannot be ruled out.

By Monday, high pressure will strengthen over the region, eliminating rain chances and pushing temperatures back into the upper 80s and low 90s. The warming trend will continue through the week, with Dallas–Fort Worth expected to reach the mid-90s by Thursday and Friday. Waco and Killeen will follow a similar pattern, climbing into the low 90s by midweek.

Residents are advised to enjoy the cooler weather Sunday and prepare for hotter, drier days ahead. Outdoor workers should plan for rising afternoon heat as the week progresses.

Five Day Forecast for Dallas–Fort Worth:

  • Monday: Sunny, high 86°
  • Tuesday: Sunny, high 87°
  • Wednesday: Sunny, high 90°
  • Thursday: Sunny, high 92°
