Fort Worth, TX – The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for 28 counties across North and Central Texas, remaining in effect until midnight CDT Friday, October 24, 2025.
The watch includes major population centers such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Denton, and Arlington, as well as surrounding areas including Coryell, Navarro, Bosque, and Lampasas Counties.
According to the National Weather Service, storms moving across the region this evening could produce large hail, damaging wind gusts over 60 mph, and isolated tornadoes. The greatest risk will persist through the late evening hours as a cold front sweeps through North Texas.
Cities under the watch include Gainesville, Waxahachie, Stephenville, Granbury, and Mineral Wells, stretching from the Red River south toward the Hill Country. Residents are urged to remain weather-aware, as additional warnings may be issued with little notice.
Drivers are advised to avoid flooded roadways and monitor local alerts for severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings that could be triggered as the line intensifies.
The watch is set to expire at midnight, but forecasters note storms could continue into the early morning hours across portions of Central Texas.
