Fort Worth, Texas – Weekend temperatures across North Texas will fluctuate sharply, swinging from the 50s to near 80 degrees before cooling again.

According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth office, post-frontal conditions will keep highs in the 50s and 60s on Friday before a rapid warmup arrives Saturday. Afternoon temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees across much of the region.

A cold front moving through late Saturday into Sunday will knock temperatures back down, with highs returning to the 60s and lower 70s by Sunday afternoon.

Forecast graphics shared by the National Weather Service show Dallas–Fort Worth reaching a high near 63 degrees Friday, warming to around 79 degrees Saturday, then cooling to about 66 degrees Sunday. Similar swings are expected farther south, with Waco, Temple, and Killeen forecast to reach near 79 degrees Saturday before dropping into the low 70s Sunday.

The outlook heading into next week suggests a more stable warming pattern. Highs are projected to rebound into the mid to upper 70s by Monday and Tuesday, aligning with broader 6- to 10-day temperature outlooks showing above-normal readings across much of Texas.

No significant precipitation or hazardous weather was highlighted in the outlook.

The temperature changes may be especially noticeable for commuters and outdoor workers as North Texas transitions into the Christmas holiday week.
