Dallas, Texas – North and Central Texas residents could wake to dangerous conditions Monday as a sprawling complex of storms pushes through the region with damaging winds, frequent lightning, and periods of heavy rain threatening the early morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the primary hazards are strong gusty winds—some severe—along with isolated flooding and scattered power outages, especially in areas stretching from Graham and Cisco to Sherman, Paris, and the entire DFW Metroplex. The strongest storms are likely between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., with severe wind gusts possible as the line of storms moves east toward Waco, Killeen, Canton, and Palestine through 11 a.m.
Scattered thunderstorms could linger, and drivers should avoid flooded roadways, keep electronic devices charged, and be prepared for brief outages or delays. Isolated wind damage is possible, especially along highways and exposed rural roads. The risk for strong storms is expected to taper off by midday, but more advisories or warnings could follow if storms redevelop later in the week.
