Texas wakes up warm and restless as low clouds drift over Dallas–Fort Worth and a springlike breeze pushes north.

Temperatures hover in the lower 60s this morning at Dallas Love Field. Southeast winds around 5 mph keep the air mild. A 30 percent chance of showers lingers early, but steadier rain is not expected right now.

Clouds thin late this morning. Highs surge to 84 degrees by afternoon. South winds increase to 15 mph, with gusts near 20 mph. It will feel more like late April than late winter. Drivers along I-35 and I-30 should watch for brief slick spots if a shower passes through.

Tonight turns mostly clear with lows near 60. The warm spell continues Sunday as March begins. Highs reach 82 under mostly sunny skies. Gusty southwest winds may hit 20 mph at times.

Monday stays warm and partly sunny with highs near 78. By Tuesday, heat builds again to 84 degrees. Winds could gust up to 30 mph, adding a breezy edge to the warmth.

Storm chances return Tuesday night with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Additional showers and storms are possible midweek, with rain chances increasing to 50 percent by Wednesday and Thursday. Some storms could bring heavy downpours.

While Arctic air grips the northern Plains, North Texas sits under a warm ridge. Longer-range outlooks favor above-normal temperatures into early March, reinforcing early spring warmth.

Daylight Saving Time begins March 8 at 2 a.m.
