Dallas, Texas – Showers and storms moved out of Oklahoma early Friday, bringing scattered rain to parts of North Texas near the Red River. The heaviest activity focused on areas around Sherman, Paris, and Canton, though severe weather is not expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, isolated to widely scattered storms will continue through the morning before tapering off by late afternoon. The main concerns include brief downpours, lightning, and gusty winds.
Morning temperatures hovered in the upper 60s to low 70s across Sherman, Graham, and DFW, with afternoon highs climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s. Dallas-Fort Worth should top out near 92°, while Waco and Killeen are expected to reach 90–94°. Areas south of I-20, including Waco, Killeen, and Palestine, may see fewer showers as coverage diminishes into the evening.
Drivers should watch for slick roads during any passing downpours, especially along U.S. 75 and Highway 82 near the Red River. Outdoor plans are safer later in the day once storms subside.
Rain chances fade tonight, leaving warm and dry conditions for the weekend, though additional updates remain possible if storm coverage lingers.
