Fort Worth, TX – North Texans can expect unseasonably warm and dry weather heading into the weekend, with daytime highs climbing back into the upper 80s and low 90s across much of the region, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
A weak stationary front is bringing a slight chance of isolated rain Wednesday, mainly east of Interstate 35, but coverage will remain minimal at 10% or less. After that, forecasters say a stretch of sunny skies and above-average temperatures will persist through early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, Dallas-Fort Worth will see highs near 90 degrees Saturday and Sunday, with overnight lows in the mid-60s. Areas farther south, including Waco, Killeen, and Palestine, could reach the low 90s through Sunday.
While the extended dry spell may make for pleasant outdoor plans, officials are urging residents to avoid open burning. “Wildfire activity may increase over the weekend due to lower humidity and warm, dry weather,” the agency said in a statement.
The pattern is expected to hold into next week, with continued sunshine and above-average warmth likely through at least mid-October.
