Fort Worth, TX – The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Freeze Warning in effect until 9 a.m. Monday, with sub-freezing temperatures expected across much of North and Central Texas, including the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area.

Overnight lows are forecast to dip to around 25–28°F, marking the region’s first widespread freeze of the season. As of early Monday, conditions at Meacham International Airport show 38°F with calm winds and clear skies—ideal conditions for rapid cooling before sunrise.

The NWS warns that frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, harm sensitive plants, and potentially damage outdoor plumbing if not properly protected. Residents are urged to cover plants, wrap exposed pipes, and bring pets indoors overnight.

Despite the cold start, forecasters say a dramatic warm-up is on the way. Highs will climb to 56°F Monday and soar into the 70s by Veterans Day, reaching the 80s by midweek under sunny skies.

Officials note that this event effectively signals the end of the growing season for much of North Texas.
