Cleveland, OH – Rainy weather won’t stop one of Cleveland’s most popular fall traditions. The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office announced that the 11th Annual Operation Safe Halloween event is moving indoors this Thursday, October 30, due to expected rain.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the event will now take place at the Huntington Convention Center, located at 300 Lakeside Avenue in downtown Cleveland. The time remains the same — from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The family-friendly “Trunk or Treat” event, co-hosted by the Sheriff’s Office and Walmart, offers children a safe environment for trick-or-treating, candy giveaways, and Halloween-themed activities. Organizers are encouraging kids to wear their costumes and enjoy the festivities indoors.

Parking is free in the Huntington Garage for parents attending the event. Officials also noted that portions of Lakeside Avenue will be closed to traffic between West 3rd Street and Ontario Street during the event hours to ensure safety for families.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all other event details remain unchanged despite the move. “The rain won’t stop us!” the post read, assuring residents that the celebration will continue as planned — just under a roof this year.
