Cumberland County, TN – Deputies in Cumberland County arrested a man Tuesday following a tense standoff connected to multiple armed robberies across the region, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident began after investigators executed a search warrant at a camper trailer in the Grandview Community on Garrison Lane on January 14, 2026. The operation was part of an ongoing investigation into an aggravated robbery that occurred earlier in the week at the Cumberland Cove Market and Deli.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the robbery took place on Monday, January 12, when a masked suspect entered the store, threatened a clerk, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Surveillance footage led deputies to a black Saturn Vue later found in Grandview. When officers attempted to contact the suspect, he allegedly barricaded himself inside the trailer, leading to a brief standoff before he was taken into custody without injuries.
The suspect, identified as Joshua Bradley Ruby, 40, of Cumberland County, faces charges including aggravated robbery, aggravated criminal trespass, and aggravated assault. Investigators also connected him to a separate October 2025 incident in the Westel Community and a recent robbery at the Marathon Convenience Market in Crossville.
Ruby remains held in the Cumberland County Jail on a $400,000 bond, with a court date set for February 23, 2026.
The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
